Function rooms:

The switch panels consist of four function rooms:

  • Busbar room
  • Equipment room
  • Cable connection room
  • Low-voltage compartment

Busbar room:

The busbar room is separated by steel plant partitions from all other function rooms. Panel-to-panel partitions are implemented using sheet metal walls with an air gap of 8 mm. Busbar partitions are implemented using GFR boards and cast-resin screw penetrations.

Switchgear compartment:

The switchgear compartment is designed for installing

  • Vacuum circuit breakers
  • Vacuum contactors
  • Ground switches
  • Measurement (voltage transformer)

each mounted on draw-out unit. The connection to the busbars and cable connection room is via contact isolators.

Positions:

  • Operating position
  • Isolated position / test position

 

Using the draw-out units is to be done with the door closed. Switching from the operating position to the isolated position can only be carried out with switchgear turned off. If the draw-out is switched out of the operating position, the metal shutters close. Switching actions can only be carried out of the operating position, the metal shutters close. Switching actions can only be carried out in a predefined position (operating or isolated position). It is possible to see the position of the circuit breakers / contactors through an inspection window.

Cable connection room:

The cable connection room is designed for installing

  • 3 current transformers
  • 3 voltage transformers
  • 3 overvoltage arrestors
  • 1 ground switch
  • Various auxiliary contacts.

Depending on the rated current, connection designs for up to 4/8 parallel cables are possible. The closed base plates are tripartite. Cable entries, cable mounting and cable clamps according to number of power cables.

Low voltage compartment:

The low-voltage compartment is  500 mm high in a 2200 mm high panel. The low-voltage compartment height can be increased by 300 mm to 800 mm. The depth of 400 mm provides ample space. Steel cable channels terminate in the low-voltage compartment. The device plate is removable.

Penetrations with rubber sleeves as edge protection / plugs are provided for cross-wiring to the neighboring switchgear. The pressure-resistant door is prepared for installation of auxiliary devices. The vertical strengthening elements are equipped with a hole grid for holding cross-profiles with wiring channels and hose clamps.

Safe and reliable operation

Personal safety:

A key focus in system development was personal safety during operating actions. All switching actions are carried out safely and reliably with the switchgear door closed.

Operational safety / mechanical locks:

  • The circuit breaker can only be switched while in the operating or isolated position.
  • The draw-out unit can only be moved from operating to isolated position if the circuit breaker is switched off.

Safe and reliable operation – Options:

  • The draw-out unit can only be moved from the isolated to operating position if the control cable plug is connected.
  • The control cable plug can only be disconnected while in the isolated position.
  • The draw-out unit can only be moved to the operating position if the ground switch is turned off.
  • The door of the switchgear compartment does not open if the draw-out unit is in the isolated position. The shutters are located in front of the contact isolators. The lock can be released using a reset bolt.
  • The door of the cable connection room can only be opened if the ground switch is turned on. The lock can be released using a reset bolt.
  • The shutters can be locked (padlock).

All doors can be locked with a pivot lever lock while in the closed position.

  • The switchgear compartment door can be closed either with a double-bitted key or a profile cylinder.
  • The cable connection room door can be closed either with a double-bitted key or a profile cylinder.
  • Door hinge right, standard.
  • Door hinge left, on request.
